Welcome to Royal Richmond Archery Club

The Royal Richmond Archery Club was established in 1873 on its present site of Old Deer Park. As well as serious archery, novelty shoots are held throughout the year and members enjoy a number of social events.

Our outdoor field is situated on Richmond Cricket Club's ground, just off the Kew Road, Richmond (see map). We can comfortably accommodate 100 yard rounds with plenty of overshoot. We have an equipment shed and a separate club house with cooking facilities, fridge, microwave and barbecue. We can also use the cricket club's pavilion with its bar, hot food, toilets and meeting rooms.

During the summer season, club nights are on Wednesday from 4.30pm until dark with Target Days on Sundays. Depending on the usage of the field, we sometimes have use of it on Friday's for extra practice. During the winter season, club nights are on Wednesday from 7pm to 9pm at the Richmond Tertiary College, off the A316 Chertsey Road (see map).

Join Us!

Our membership stands at about 60, but we're always looking for new members. We offer beginners' courses in summer each year. These courses will teach you everything you need to know to start archery and join our club. We only hold these course once a year, so don't miss out! Click here for more information. [Read more »]

Club Events

The Club holds a number of fun shoots throughout the year using novelty paper and 3-D targets. Annual events include the Pagoda Shoot (a Record Status shoot hosted by the club), the Victorian long bow shoot in Victorian dress with cucumber sandwiches and tea, the Haggis shoot complete with haggis, neeps and tatties, and a Halloween shoot shot at night under floodlights.

Royal Richmond has close relationships with other clubs in the area and we usually visit each other once a year. Tea and sandwiches are usually laid on and provides a chance for everybody to get to know each other better.

We have a core of archers that regularly take part in both target and field competitions and you will be given every encouragement to have a go yourself. [Read more »]
