RRAC Commitment to Child Protection

The Royal Richmond Archery Club believes that, when dealing with children and vulnerable adults, their welfare should always be of paramount importance. We are committed to providing an environment where young people can learn and participate in the sport of archery, free from harassment and abuse.

This club also believes in zero tolerance of all forms of bullying - physical, verbal or emotional.

All those people working with children have a moral responsibility to safeguard and promote a child’s welfare. This club has, therefore, adopted the GNAS protection of children and vulnerable adults policy to ensure peace of mind for both adults and children.

Responsibilities

• All organisations have a responsibility to protect children and young adults from neglect and abuse.
• All incidents of suspicion, poor practice and allegations will be taken seriously and responded to swiftly and appropriately, while maintaining confidentiality on a strictly ‘need-to-know’ basis.
• Coaches and helpers will be required to undergo screening in accordance with the guidelines for best practice contained in the GNAS protection of children and vulnerable adults policy.
• Coaches and helpers will be required to undertake awareness training in child protection through Richmond upon Thames Child Protection Committee, Multi-Agency training courses.
